How do I cancel my registration?
Are there any age requirements?
There are no age requirements for GAV regular divisions.
However, to qualify as an Adult/Child team: Children under the age of 16 must
play with an adult at least 10 years older. Kids that are 16 and over must play
with an adult at least 20 years older.
I would like to know more about playing volleyball. Are
there levels of ability? Can you attend without a partner? Do you sign up for a
game or for a season? Are there try outs?
GAV is strictly tournament based, there are no try-outs.
Players register to play in a single beach tournament that typically lasts all
day depending on how well you place.
Levels of Play
Open: The strongest level of play.
AA: AA players have strong all-round skills and
planned strategies. Players are very competitive and can battle it out in the
harshest of conditions.
A: A Players are moderately experienced and can
pass, set and spike consistently.
B: For beginner to intermediate. Choose this division
if you are new to beach volleyball or want a more recreational level of play.
The best way to find a partner is to register yourself on
our website, log in, and goto the forum "Partner Search" to leave some contact
information. You can register as a single looking for a partner and show up to
the event in hopes of finding someone looking to play as well, but we aren't
always successful in partnering players. It does happen frequently though.
What time are we supposed to arrive the day of the
tournament?
Be at the site at 8:00 A.M. This will give you 30 minutes to
find parking, carry your belongings to the beach badge stand, find the
bathroom, say hi to friends and much much more.
