In 2002, local beach volleyball veteran Wayne Gant started Great American Volleyball. Wayne started playing volleyball in high school, and quickly became one of New Jerseys best beach players. After climbing the ladder of divisions on the JSVBA, East End, and other local volleyball tours, Wayne noticed over several years that participation was declining. Determined to save this Great sport, Wayne decided to create his own beach volleyball tour.

Great American Volleyball has always strived to provide the very best tournament experience to its players. Were always looking for new ways to increase the quality of every aspect of our tournaments. Player perks, quality prizes, professional net systems, and a friendly, attentive staff are the standard.

Great American Volleyball prides itself on making players happy, and as a result the tour has grown quickly. In just 5 years since our first tournament, Great American Volleyball has become the largest beach volleyball tour in the Northeast and one of the largest in the U.S.

While we are proud of what we have accomplished so far, we always have a lot of room for improvement. As we continue to grow we will continue to make the overall beach volleyball experience more enjoyable for our players. We will continue to build relationships with our sponsors, creating an environment of mutual benefit for them and our players and fans.

This year, were making some big additions. First among these, we discovered a declining interest in tournament play at the very birth place of beach volleyball, Southern California. In response, Great American Volleyball will be offering 10 CA events with our quality and attention to detail.

Weve rebranded Great American Volleyball with a lot of help from Creative Director Dan Madden. In addition to the new look, weve changed a few things around the website to make it easier to use and give you more of what you want. Weve got a national ranking system, updated results, a rankings page, and constantly updated articles, photos, and videos.

Weve also decided to start our own Membership Program and fund our own Big Spikers Club. In our first solo membershp year, we will be offering a total of $15,000 to our loyal players. All our members will be covered by accidental/medical insurance and be able to participate in any Great American events across the country.
